Start Up Options
On the Start Up Page of the ProtoGenie Composer, there are six links, as follows:
Access your Personal Library of Protocols
Start New Protocol From Scratch (Blank Protocol) <=
Search The ProtoGenie Library of Protocols
Select a Typical Design to Use as a Template
Restore a Protocol From a Previously Downloaded Backup File

Click on "Start New Protocol From Scratch (Blank Protocol)." This brings up a page called "Starting From a Blank Protocol" This page contains two boxes. One is labeled "Choose Research Method" and the other is labeled "Blank Protocol."

In the Research Methods drop-down list, select "Classical and Quasi-Experiments." The reason for designating a research method is to characterize your protocol for future reference and for future users (if you make the protocol public). Also, construction options and procedures differ somewhat from method to method. For example, while the basic concepts of surveys and classical experiments are similar, procedures will sometimes vary.
Now, click on the Blank Protocol and you will advance to the next page, which is the Edit Protocol Page.
