Make SPSM Event For Treatment Group 1
Treatment Group 1 S T1M S
Treatment Group 2 S T2M S
Treatment Group 3 S T3M S
Treatment Group 4 S T4M S
The next step is to create a special combined treatment and measurement event (SPSM). There will be four Same-Page Stimulus & Measurement (SPSM) events called for in this design, two for each group (Treatment and Control). Create the first SPSM event as follows:
1. Use an existing JPEG (or other standard image format) image or create one. Publish it on your host server and get the URL address for that file.
2. Click on the Make & Edit Events tab of the Edit Protocol Page of the composer/editor. This brings up the Events Specification Table containing the columns labeled, Event Label, Event Type, Variable, Event Description, and Key Words. Note that the support event labeled "Instructions Event" that you previously created is the only row in this table.
3. Click on CREATE. Click on "Same-Page Stimulus & Measurement." A new row will appear in your Events Specification Table. Under Event Type, you will see "Same-Page Stimulus & Measurement." Under Event Label type "Attractive Female-Average IQ." Under Variable name, type AttractiveAverageIQ.

4. Click on Attractive Female-Avg IQ and look down below your Events Specification Table to the Protocol Construction Area.

5. In the field labeled "Type the url of your picture here." Type in that url. (For the tutorial, the url is http://www.attractive/picture 1/jpeg).
6. This study calls for a description of the intelligence of the person in the photograph. Therefore, in the field labeled, "Type text to accompany image." type the following:
Intelligence test, SAT and other standardized tests, and grade point averages indicate that this person is of average intelligence.
7. Click on the drop-down box labeled "Measurement," and select the Measurement which you previously created called "Measurement for SPSM events." ***
8. Click on Preview to see if you have the screen presentation as you want it.
*** There will be designs in which you will not want to present the measurement on the same page as the stimulus, such that the subject clicks the Next button to move to the next screen. In this case, do not select anything to appear in the drop-down box. When you separate the measurement from the stimulus, you may want to get the time that the subject spent on viewing the stimulus. These time intervals are given automatically in the Results Page. Should you desire an automatic advance in a given number of seconds, click on Automatic Advance and enter the time interval you wish.
